hi. im new, sorry. i wandered in from a dead link and ended up reading the old poetry threads for like six hours.
one account keeps coming up, midnite_sky, and her stuff is... i dont have a word. i kept a tab open just to reread
one about a porch light. and then i went to see what else she wrote and the account just stops. late 2007, no
last post that sounds like a last post, no goodbye, nothing. it just ends mid-sentence with the rest of you like
nothing happened. so im asking the dumb new-person question: what happened to her. where did she go.

oh. um. hi and welcome and also ow. you couldnt have known but that ones a bruise around here. she moved and got
quiet and the quiet kind of kept going. i had a joke half typed to make this less weird and i deleted it.

Welcome, and Im sorry your first thread here is this one. we dont really know, is the thing. She said she
was moving, that summer, said the new place was quieter and shed be offline while the internet got sorted. And
then it just never got sorted, as far as any of us can tell. We dont really talk about it. Its not some secret,
theres just nothing to actually say, and every time someone brings it up it sits worse, so mostly we dont.

some of us still post in her last thread sometimes, if you scroll back far enough. not to fix anything, just so
its not totally quiet in there. id say dont go digging past that though. theres nothing back there, thats the
part that gets me. its just quiet. and somehow the quiet is worse than if there was actually something. just
read her poems. thats the good part of her. leave the rest alone.

leaving this up because she IS worth asking about. but one thing, from someone who loved her: please
dont turn asking about her into digging through her life. she was a real girl who wrote stuff good enough to grab
a stranger at 2am four years later, and i dont want that flattened into gossip. be gentle in here

sorry. i didnt know it was a bruise. i just liked how she wrote. ill be gentle. the porch light ones still open in my tab
